Project 3 -Stage 3

STAGE 3: An Interior  With a Flower or Plant
Concentrating on a subject I kept my painting as simple as I could and colours as bright as they were.
Although I am not sure if the blue glass looks like glass? I still don't know how to paint a glass effect and I know that I really need to work on that.

When I look closely on a part of my painting with the glass I can see that it is not as see-through as it should be. The part where my blue glass meets the wall shouldn't be so pure, I think I should have tried to find the right colour for a bit longer.

What I like about this part is the place where the stalk is nearly invisible on the green curtain.

I also like the colour of my curtain on which I tried to find a warm green in the shadow part and cool green in the part where the light was.

Project 3 - colour study

Stage 2 -colour study of flower

I had  big fun during this project as I could use only few colours. This study shows general shapes and colours of the flower, it is clear and very simple painting. I put my flower vase on a gray paper and as a background I had the green window curtain .

an apple- painting

This study shows the general shapes and coloring of an apple from above (painting 1) and looking at it from the front (painting 2).

At the early stage I tried to keep everything quite simple .

painting 3.                                                                                                  painting 4.

I need only one painting for this task and i decided to make two from different angels, so that I can compare and choose the one which I like. Sofar  I am thinking about the painting 3. as it has more contrast in green colour and the shadow is darker . From the other hand the painting 4. has more depth in the background but the task was about an apple as an object so my choice is simple. I am going to select the painting number 3.

4:Painting In Three Dimension

While I was waiting for some space on the table to make Project 1 (  two drawings of books in three dimension) I decided to not to waist my time and move on with Project 2.
 Project 2: Solidity
Stage 1: Drawing an Apple

I have made few drawings on paper size A3 of an apple, I have used  a charcoal for this task.
Still I don 't know which 4 of them I am going to use in my portfolio.

3: Using Colour to describe Objects- final painting

I manage to put everything together and finished my Project 2 . I am quit happy with my final result.

picture 1
I have achieved what I wanted. The picture1. shows the subtlety and depth of colour that I tried to achieved by using different temperature of gray colour. I like the hand bag in the right top corner as it has warm and cold gray. I spent quite a lot of time on this task, I was studding and analysing every part of that still nature to be sure that I am pleased with it. I was painting only when I had a day light in my small art studio.
Cant wait to move to another project:)

3.Using Colour to Describe Objects

Project 2

drawing 1.

This is my painting in progress, I tried  to put everything all together but after a while I noticed some mistakes.
First of all I would like to make my glass  a bit straighter  and less shiny. Another issue is the temperature of colour around the nectarine, then the shape of  the black scissors. Moreover I am not pleased with the pink glass and thes shape of the shoe. The glass has the same brush strokes as the gray hand bag on the right side. I should work on a wider variety of my brush strokes on that part of my painting.

3: Using colour to describe objects - project 1

This is my project 1, it is finished and I am happy with the result.  I like quick and rapid brushwork, I used only basic colours and moreover I used pure BLACK paint which for me is unusual.  I treat this as a sketch which should help me to understand the next step of this project. The next step is a painting of the same group of objects. I know I will go into details and will try to capture real colours.
